Can I please have the new folder button back?

Marc Orchant over at downloadsquad has a nice tool for the Explorer “Folder Size solve a big Windows annoyance“.

Wonderful. Now, could you also please dig out something which brings back the ‘add new folder’ button to the icon bar which they got rid off and never brought back?

Because it is quite annoying – you cannot use keyboard shortcuts (file – new – enter has different meaning depending on which file you are just highlighting).

Some open source goodness somewhere for that too, so one does not need to replace the normal explorer? And a way to make the settings I want to have as default view really the default view? And while we are at it, could someone please also give me a tool which forces a given usb connection to just finish, regardless of what Windows thinks is still open?

Small things? Yes. Bug me every day, several times. :)

    Extras -> Ordneroptionen -> Ansicht
    [ ] Ansichtoptionen für jeden Ordner speichern
    apply

    set your settings
    Extras -> Ordneroptionen -> Ansicht
    press “für alle Ordner übernehmen”

    works with my settings. (downstript everything, no web folders , everything in detail view …) but i think you tried that already.

    as another filemanager i use TotalCommander (built in FTP,zip,preview,foldersync,crc-check,colors for different files… )

    btw:
    i safely transfered “program files” to programme
    for digital line detect and netwaiting just copy them and change the registry
    (regedit @ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run)
    and startmenu links.
    for the tablet menu its wierd the default is always “program files”
    deinstall and reinstall manually it with setting german from “\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\TBUTIL\setup.exe”
    if you didnt do that already

    Nicole, I have found that PowerDesk is a very nice Explorer replacement. You press your “insert” key to make a new folder, and it has dual window panes. Very nice for side-by-side folders.

    Oh, and it is 100% free (and never times out). Find it here: http://www.v-com.com/product/PowerDesk_Free_Trial.html

    Since Baxbex new folder offered only old Windows 98 style icon (not matching with new XP visual style), just download free add on new folder button in Windows Explorer Toolbar (my created-skinned/reshacked bxnewfolder with Vista style icon etc) + hotkey and floating dialog box, fully functional and working as well: Screenshots: http://img263.imageshack.us/i/newfolderbuttoninxpexpl.jpg/ and http://img263.imageshack.us/i/cleanerusefuldialogboxa.jpg/
