The open skype chat for the Euro 2008

In order not to totally ruin twitter during the Euro 2008 championship (soccer if you must ask …) we do have an open, english skype chatroom which mostly will be populated during the games. :)

And Wikipedia has a great article for the Euro 2008 including a participating country map – seems like this is a continental europe affair this year. ;)

What a beautiful Sunday afternoon timewaster.

You failed to achieve your goal. You only got 53

Waaaa. Meet Boomshine. Actually, I made it to 54 balls. As it seems I am not the only one having problems.

Boomshine is an addictive Flash casual game. Click the screen to start a chain reaction and try to explode as many dots as needed to pass a level. The game contains 12 levels ranging from the easy to the hard (only 3.97% of games pass level 12). Over 3 million games have been played by over 100,000 different players.

The music is very nice as well – I think I will just …

Free Sugababes concert via streaming.

I do have the feeling I am getting to old for this. o2 Music Flash is presenting a free concert at Cebit with the Sugababes – I still remember the Spice Girls. ;)

Until now it is mainly promoted in German, but if I have any Sugababes fans as readers .. here you go. ;) You will probably not be able to attend, but the concert is also streamed on the net from 7pm middle European time (= GMT+1).
More information can be found here.

Disclosure: I am lead blogger for o2’s event blog during Cebit.

5 things you might not know about me

The “5 things you might not know about me” meme has been around for some time now and this actually is the english text version – I already did a German one as well as record this one in the latest useful sounds podcast.

  • Call me Nicole, thanks.

nisi / neezee and nixande are my most likely usernames in different services and tools. One of the reason why I prefer them over my normale name is the fact that I am not able to type my first nor my last name fast. Nicole nearly never comes out correctly, but Nciole / Nicloe …

Playing the Technorati game.

Ben try to get into 4 digits numbers – some more links will surely help ;)

Men are supposed to do the coffee. Don’t believe me? Take a look at the bible.

A man and his wife were having an argument about who should brew the coffee each morning.

The wife said, “You should do it because you get up first, and then we don’t have to wait as long to get our coffee.

The husband said, “You are in charge of cooking around here and you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee.”

Wife replies, “No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee.”

Husband replies, “I can’t believe that, show me.”

So she fetched the Bible, …

The Independent:
To google or not to google? It’s a legal question

Search engine giant Google, known for its mantra “don’t be evil”, has fired off a series of legal letters to media organisations, warning them against using its name as a verb.

I know they have to try, but I think that one has no chance of success. Everyone uses the verb google in this way – even normal people. Especially normal people.

It is a brand like Coke for Cola. I understand the reasons why they want to protect their trademark – or let’s better say I know that there are …

Back at the Coupa Café

Not much left on my batterie, but I am sipping my decaf coffee, listen to nice music and enjoy the people around me who do as I do – pick up their laptops and work on their stuff.

As well as talk. As well as laugh. As well as participate in their surrounding.

Some people call this “second life” as long as a computer is involved.

I’m sorry, this *is* first life for a lot of us. And Coupa Café is how every café should be. Except with more powerplugs. ;))

Did I mention that I will have breakfast and lunch here tomorow? ;))))
