Want to go to a conference but can’t afford to?
Well, if you would like to attend PDC but want MS to pick up the tab, here is your chance. Go over to Jeff Sandquist’s blog and take a look at all the interesting stuff they do around the conference – videos, blog contest, podcasting … It is the whole experience, something for everyone. Really good work – and it is fun for them as well, as one can see in the videos.
Too bad I am not a programmer. ;) Oh yes, and they have buttons! People know, I always ask for cute buttons:
Cleverly made with integrated backlinks and trackable stats. Tip: Next time, add an alt text also, will improve your ranking, ;)
Competitions like this makes me hope to see even more contest like this coming up, additionally I find the value out of this for Microsoft and the comuntiy interesting: People will share blogpostings with the world (in the best, fun way they can write about it) and evangelize through others. Is it a cheap trick? No, because I think MS really offers some valueable gifts for it. It will be interesting to see, which kind of postings we will read for this content and I would love to have a technorati search on it. ;)
The best effect: To get people excited for the conference, and from my experience with doing the little pre reboot podcast I can tell you: This is just so much fun and exciting to do!
Too bad I did not have the time to do more (too much to do at my dayjob), I would have liked to see more ‘normal’ participants using perhaps my voicemail on skype, but I hope to get them to leave messages after the conference on it. You know, for the post conference podcast … ;)
