  1. “Schadenfreude” sounds much better though – and since we English donate so many words to the world, it’s good to admit that other languages sometimes have the edge. I also like the Swedish word for loneliness – ensamhetskänsla – now that’s so much more powerful…

    Epicaricacy is only by the loosest definition an English word, since it’s constructed from ancient Greek. If we can borrow from Greeks, why not from Germans?

    Since Schadenfreude is in much more common usage, I would suggest that we do have a word for Schadenfreude, and it is Schadenfreude.
